Meet the Team
Annie — Registered Dental Hygienist & Clinical Team Leader
I graduated from Lima Technical College in June of 2000 and started working for Dr. Bentley in the fall of that year. I then went back to school (I just couldn’t get enough!) and received my Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene from The Ohio State University in December of 2008. I have been the Clinical Team Leader since 2010 and enjoy being able to delve into the management aspects of the practice.
My husband and I have two beautiful girls, ages 11 and 9 (they keep us VERY busy!).
In my spare time (whenever that is) I enjoy spending time with family and friends, taking walks, riding my bike, jogging and reading.
Taylor —Dental Assistant / Clinical Team Leader / Second in Command
I graduated from Graham High School in the spring of 2012 and then in the fall of 2012 completed the Dental Assistant Training program. I have been working at Excellence In Dentistry since 2013, but have been a patient of the practice my whole life. I enjoy working along side our Doctors but also enjoy the management side of the practice.
When I am not working I enjoy being with my husband and our two daughters who keep us very busy. I also like to antique shop, gardening, and be outside.
Gina — Office Coordinator
I grew up in Vandalia as an only child, where I graduated in 1994, from Vandalia-Butler High School. I graduated from the medical assisting program at RETS Technical Center in 1996. In December of 1996, I began working full time at Dr. Bentley’s as a dental assistant. I am now the Office Coordinator.
My husband Shane is a Mechanical Engineer at Copeland. We have two children who are involved in various activities. We all enjoy the outdoors and spend a lot of time biking and camping.
I enjoy reading fiction especially Stephen King, James Patterson, & John Grisham although it is difficult to find the time. I really enjoy watching movies: comedy, love stories & action. In the warmer months, I rollerblade (& often pick myself up from falling ), play tennis, take walks, camp, & enjoy being outside. I love animals of all species but particularly, those that purr & request attention at the food bowl in the early morning.
Kimberly — Administrative Team Leader
I was born and raised in the area so I am a local girl. I had a normal childhood with my parents, brother and sister. I was in marching band in high school and played the saxophone. I married my high school sweetheart and went to two colleges majoring in elementary education. My husband was in the Army so we moved around quite a bit for ten years. We have two children a boy and a girl. I was going through a divorce when I started working here as a scheduler in 2006. I think being a military wife/mom really gave me a lot of skills that I bring to the office. I love working here. Our office is big on customer service and I love talking to people and building relationships with our patients. We are also big on organization and continued education. I want to always be learning. I am currently married and my family lives in the country. I have a dog and a donkey. Yes, I said a donkey…don’t ask. The kids have lambs for 4-H projects. I mainly spend my extra time running my kids to all their events and helping a local volunteer fire department that my husband is a member. I do enjoy reading and scrapbooking but don’t often have time to do either. I love my co-workers and am thankful to be part of the Excellence in Dentistry family.
Sarah —Doctor Coordinator/Admin Team Leader/Second in Command
I was born in San Antonio, Texas, although I have also lived in Richmond, Virginia, and Louisville, Kentucky. I graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, gardening, home improvement projects, watching movies, seeing live musicals, photography, and going to fairs and festivals. I love animals and have a loveable, goofy black Labrador named Dexter. I have a great passion for traveling and seeing as much of the world as I can. So far, I have been to 29 U.S. States, plus Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Spain, France, Italy, Monaco, Corsica, and Ghana, and I will be going to Alaska with my family in 2019!
I began my journey with Excellence in Dentistry in April 2013 as a Scheduler, and in 2014, I moved into the Hygiene Coordinator position. Currently, I am the Doctor Coordinator for the office and a Team Leader/Second in Command for the Administration team. I enjoy helping to guide the practice in a positive direction, and I feel blessed with the wonderful people and patients I get to work with every day.
Linda — Chief Financial Officer
Linda has enjoyed over 40 years in the dental field alongside her husband, Dr. Bentley, and has held almost every clerical/administrative position in the office. Many years ago she was a dental assistant for Dr. Bentley. After a full day of teaching first grade at Concord School, she would head to their first dental office on Robinhood Lane and assist him. Back then, there were two treatment rooms and only one other employee, so her help was desperately needed after school and on Saturdays.
After ten years of teaching both in West Virginia and in Ohio, and the birth of their only child, Megan, Dr. Bentley persuaded Linda to give up her teaching career and work part and then full time in the office.
Her major responsibilities now are reviewing accounts payable and payroll, keeping up with tax payments, attending office meetings and handling everything Dr. Bentley asks her to do. Her Bachelor of Science degree in education at Ohio State University did not prepare her for the world of dentistry and the myriad of changes throughout the years. She and Dr. Bentley attended 100’s of courses over the years and learned that “they didn’t know what they didn’t know”.
Megan is now married to Patrick and they have a little girl, Parker Estelle. Linda and Dr. Bentley are looking forward to many trips to Chicago to visit their granddaughter. While at home Linda is “Mother” to her three dogs and two cats, who she loves dearly.
She is excited about all the new ideas that have emerged in the world of dentistry which have benefited the patients and the staff over the years. She is thankful that through the support of loyal patients and staff that the dream of their current dental facility became a reality. The office has provided a wonderful opportunity to meet new people both as patients and/or staff members. She feels so fortunate to have been part of the dental world all of these years.
Tonia — Financial Coordinator
Hi, my name is Tonia and I am the financial coordinator here at Excellence in Dentistry. Within this position, I work closely with patients and insurance companies to help ensure that financial arrangements are in place prior to, during, and after a patient has received treatment so that payments for our services are received in a timely manner. Part of this role involves verify benefits for patients with dental insurance and trying to make sure we are getting the best benefit possible for our patients. I also file claims and handle our accounts receivable and answer any questions a patient may have regarding the financial aspects of their treatment.
I have been with the office since 2005 and one thing I have enjoyed the most about being here is the great staff with whom I have the privilege of working. We are all well trained and well led by Dr. Bentley who is a wonderful example of caring and leadership. He is always encouraging us to be our best; to be excellent in all we do and we all work very hard to try to achieve that standard.
My life verse is Romans 8:28 “For we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.”
Nicole — Public Relations Team Leader
I started working for Dr. Bentley in May of 1999 as a scheduler. In February of 2002 I decided it was time to stay home and raise my children, I returned to the office in August of 2006 and am now the Public Relations Coordinator and Quality Control Coordinator.
I spend part of my working hours here at the office and the other part is spent working from home. In the last few years I have attended several courses to further my education with management and marketing. I love the challenges and rewards that marketing can bring and really enjoy digging into problems and concerns and finding ways to improve the office.
Another one of my main responsibilities is organizing all of our spreadsheets. Some staff refer to me as the “numbers elf”. I love working with numbers and the challenge of making sure that everything makes sense and all the analyzing that goes along with it.
On a personal note, my husband Nick and I have been married for 21 years and have four wonderful children. I have been homeschooling my children for the last six years and my oldest is graduating this year. It has been an adventurer that I wouldn’t trade for the world.
My husband and I don’t get a whole lot of time to spend together, but when we do we enjoy going to new restaurants and going to the movies. The last couple of years we have harvested a rather large vegetable garden. This has become a very big family bonding experience! I’m sure someday we will get some more time together, but for now we are in the season of raising our little ones and leaning on God to lead us in the right direction not only for our life, but for theirs as well.
