I was born and raised in the area so I am a local girl. I had a normal childhood with my parents, brother and sister. I was in marching band in high school and played the saxophone. I married my high school sweetheart and went to two colleges majoring in elementary education. My husband was in the Army so we moved around quite a bit for ten years. We have two children a boy and a girl. I was going through a divorce when I started working here as a scheduler in 2006. I think being a military wife/mom really gave me a lot of skills that I bring to the office. I love working here. Our office is big on customer service and I love talking to people and building relationships with our patients. We are also big on organization and continued education. I want to always be learning. I am currently married and my family lives in the country. I have a dog and a donkey. Yes, I said a donkey…don’t ask. The kids have lambs for 4-H projects. I mainly spend my extra time running my kids to all their events and helping at the local volunteer fire department of which my husband is a member. I do enjoy reading and scrapbooking but don’t often have time to do either. I love my co-workers and am thankful to be part of the Excellence in Dentistry family.

I work part-time at the office and part time in my home office. My major responsibilities as Chief Financial Officer include accounts payable, payroll, keeping up with taxes, attending office and departmental meetings and handling anything Dr. Bentley asks me to do.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education, and taught first grade in West Virginia and then Troy, Ohio, for ten years. I have been working in the dental office since my daughter was born 35 years ago. Besides working in the office and at home, I enjoy reading, attending continuing education programs, and talking with my daughter on the phone.

I am excited about all the new ideas that have emerged in the world of dentistry which have benefited the patients and the staff. I am thankful that through the support of loyal patients and staff that the dream of the new dental facility became a reality. The office has provided a wonderful opportunity to meet new people both as patients and/or staff members over the years.

I started working for Dr. Bentley in May of 1999 as a scheduler.  In February of 2002 I decided it was time to stay home and raise my children, I returned to the office in August of 2006 and I am now the Public Relations Coordinator and Quality Control Coordinator.

I spend part of my working hours here at the office and the other part is spent working from home.  In the last few years I have attended several courses to further my education with management and marketing.  I love the challenges and rewards that marketing can bring and really enjoy digging into problems and concerns and finding ways to improve the office.

Another one of my main responsibilities is organizing all of our spreadsheets.  Some staff refer to me as the “numbers elf”.  I love working with numbers and the challenge of making sure that everything makes sense and all the analyzing that goes along with it.

I graduated from Lima Technical College in June of 2000 and started working for Dr. Bentley in the fall of that year. I then went back to school (I just couldn’t get enough!) and received my Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene from The Ohio State University in December of 2008. I recently took on a new role in the office as Clinical Team Leader, allowing me to delve into some of the management aspects of the practice.

In my spare time (whenever that is) I enjoy spending time with family and friends, taking walks, riding my bike, jogging and reading.
